Delight Valley Blades is Brock...and Brock is Delight Valley Blades. He has a lifetime of artistry, fabrication, and real world hard use of edged tools. He stresses the little details and brings an obsession for quality along with his sarcasm and charm.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained...or something like that.
Meet your maker
Brock
Howdy. I'm just a guy with a passion for making cool shit. I've been an artist my whole life although I got distracted by the pursuit of a career, money and other bullshit for a while. I have lived many places (including a stint in Oregon as a little kid) and seen many things along the way yet through it all my heart always wanted...always needed to get back to the big trees, the hills and green of western Oregon. Fortune smiled on me and now l'm back and obsessively designing, grinding and crafting high-end cutlery and blades. I'm a food geek with above average skills with a blade and opinions on everything. Stop by, bring a rootbeer and share the view...maybe we can argue about something.
Today I'm just a dad of two girls. A husband (just one Ol' Lady) . Reformed LEO. Chocolate Chip Cookie maker who's fortunate enough to have a few acres outside of Cottage Grove, Oregon in the foothills of the cascades...overlooking the beautiful Delight Valley. Yep, it's a real place and as close to heaven as this man will likely ever get.
I believe very strongly the best blades need to not only be made from quality materials, but also have the correct materials, the proper grind and edge bevels for it's intended use. I use only high quality materials in my knives. I use both carbon and stainless steels and almost exclusively make knives via stock removal. I favor many of the newer particle metallurgy steels such as CPM4V, Vanadis 4E, CPMS60v and the like and have a love affair with the quality, reliability and simplicity of 15N20, 52100, AEB-L, 440C and 5160. I make my own multi-piece handle scales, utilize the industry leader, K&G, for stabilizing and only source the best hybrid blocks and materials from trusted vendors, many of whom have become friends. I believe it is important to note I am not an accomplished photographer and almost all of the pics are taken from my phone by me. I'm not going to razzle dazzle you with fancy pics only to disappoint you with a mediocre blade. My pics are lame...my blades are incredible, I promise.
DVB knives are guaranteed against manufacurer defects in construction and materials. If there is a defect in materials or construction DVB will, at my discretion, repair or replace the item(s). I'll make it right. I want you stoked. The warranty does not include finishes on blades or handles nor what is considered normal wear and tear. They are tools meant to be used and I hope they earn some beauty marks along the way. There is no warranty on leather goods.
I'll sharpen knives I've made for the life of the blade...or my life...whichever ends first. You are responsible for getting the knife/knives to me and providing for return to you. This can be done via USPS or if you're in the area, give me a call, stop by and I'll sharpen them while you wait (assuming they only require routine maintenance/sharpening). If properly bribed with a rootbeer or quality chocolate chip cookies, I might even sing a song while I work.
